Title(s) and abstract

Scientific title Cost Benefit Analysis of influenza vaccine roll out in Bhutan
Public title Cost Benefit Analysis of influenza vaccine roll out in Bhutan

Background The healthcare system in Bhutan operates on a three-tier structure: primary, secondary, and tertiary levels. Bhutanese citizens are entitled to free basic public healthcare services. As a landlocked country in Southeast Asia with favorable climatic conditions for influenza outbreaks, Bhutan faces significant public health challenges.
Objectives 1.To evaluate the cost-benefit analysis of the influenza vaccine program in Bhutan. 2.To examine the associated medical and indirect cost of productivity lost (Hospitalization) and loss of lives due to premature deaths. 3.To evaluate the budget impact analysis of the program
Study Methods A systematic process of calculating cost benefit analysis will be design and adopted to evaluate the cost, benefit, and net saving associated with influenza vaccination program.
Expected outcomes and use of results At the outcome level study, measurement of both direct and indirect costs of influenza illness, such as medical cost, physician and nurse cost, lost productivity (Hospitalization), and mortality (Pre-mature deaths) will be taken into consideration to measure the benefit analysis of the program.

Keywords Influenza vaccine, cost benefit analysis, direct and indirect cost.
